Madras

Madras

Madras is a vibrant assemblage that layers color, texture, and form into a rhythmic, quilt-like composition. Drawing inspiration from the patterned vibrancy of madras textiles, the work combines squares and rectangles of varying hues—turquoise, lime, violet, cobalt, and gold—into a lively mosaic of abstraction.

The interplay of painted surfaces, cut forms, and gestural markings creates both harmony and contrast, echoing the energy of woven fabric while remaining firmly in the realm of contemporary abstraction. The repetition of geometric shapes suggests structure, while the spontaneity of brushwork and color bleed conveys freedom and movement.

At once playful and sophisticated, Madras celebrates the joy of color and pattern, transforming everyday associations of fabric into a dynamic work of fine art.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow

Tomorrow is a layered assemblage that contemplates possibility, change, and the unknown. Built from fabric, paper, and painted surfaces, the work merges geometric structure with gestural spontaneity. Blocks of color—cool blues, soft grays, vibrant purples, and bursts of yellow—are interwoven with textured fragments and stitched-like lines, creating a visual dialogue between order and improvisation.

The open expanses of pale gray suggest space and silence, while the scattered, colorful forms evoke moments of energy, memory, and anticipation. Together, they capture the duality of tomorrow: uncertain yet full of potential.

At once grounded and dreamlike, Tomorrow embodies the layered nature of time—where fragments of the past and present shape the unfolding horizon of what is to come
